Volunteers are needed for a large protest in Melbourne against the Canadian seal slaughter. Read on for more info.
I received this e-mail from Ashley Fruno from PETA Asia Pacific.
"PETA is having a protest against the Canadian seal slaughter in Melbourne on Friday, November 13th, and we’re looking for volunteers willing to be body painted to resemble the Canadian flag. Girls will be wearing pasties (nipple covers) and full underwear, and boys will be wearing tight boxers. There will be five protestors – painted from head to toe and assembled to make one Canadian flag – holding a small banner reading “Stop the Bloody Seal Slaughter”. Would you like to be one of these lucky five people to bare it “all”?
As you may know, every year, hundreds of thousands of baby seals are killed for their skin in the most horrific ways imaginable. Seals stand no chance against club-wielding trappers who are after their fur, and they must look on as fellow pups are bludgeoned to death before meeting the same bloody fate. These seals, many of whom are only weeks old when they're barbarically killed, have their skulls smashed in or are shot point-blank by hunters who are driven by profit and greed.
