Tuesday, 22 September 2009
It's that time of the year again where Australia is being asked to cut the meat out of their diets. The 28th of September until the 4th of October is your time to shine. Reckon you can take on the challenge? Of course you can! And we're here to help you. Read on for more info... Here's what you have to do: 1) Head over to the National Vegetarian Week website and take the veg pledge. 2) Browse around the site, they have heaps of cool recipes and list the many benefits of adopting a vegetarian diet. 3) Get your friends involved! Let's put it this way: the more people that join in, the less little baby piglets die for meals. What we're going to give you: We're so behind this initiative, we want to give everyone that pledges to be veg a free vegetarian starter kit AND a free 'Go veg- Save lives' wristband! Sharing is caring. Shoot an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject 'I WANT TO TAKE THE VEG PLEDGE' to receive your free goodies. Need inspiration? Watch Meat your Meat. It might not be pretty, but it's far better than what the animals had to go through. Have a read here and here of what happens to each animal we eat to end up on our plate. Check this video out. No blood. No guts. Just a really inspiring, beautiful clip with a really strong message. To celebrate your cruelty free week: October 4th is World Animal Day at Edgar's Mission and ATAAC is running a stall there. There will be heaps of cool things going on as well as a vegan BBQ. Heaps of other animal groups will be there as well and you will be able to meet all of the beautiful farm animals. Check it out here. Perhaps this day will inspire you to take your cruelty freek week further :) Please get along and support it. Pam does such incredible/inspiring/amazing work for animals and she really needs all the support she can get. No excuses! Being veg has never been easier. There are so many veg restaurants out there, as well as thousands of veg recipes on the net. Just type in 'vegetarian recipes' to google and you'll be blown away about all of the options out there! If you have ever wanted to be vegetarian, but thought it was 'too hard,' well here's your week to test your theory. And prove it wrong. The animals will love you for it. Need support? E-mail us on This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with any question, anytime. We are always here to help out with any concerns you may have.
