Friendicoes is an animal shelter in Delhi India that has been in operation for almost 30 years.
They have a day ambulance which runs for 12 hours a day but was not strong enough to cover a night shift as well, which means that in Delhi with a population of over 20 million people, you can imagine the amount of stray dogs and cats that roam the city looking for food.
As a result, many many animals that were being hit by cars once it got dark, and were too injured to move were left lying on the road until morning, in the hope that someone would ring Friendicoes to send the day ambulance.
After one of our supporters visited Friendicoes and explained their dilemma we decided to step in and help and after much protocol (and fundraising!) the Friendicoes/Ataac night ambulance is now on the road!!
Check out the announcement and on the road pics of the- Ambulance on Friendicoes website
